Discover Saint Mont wines

Traditional Local Grapes

SAINT MONT wines are made from traditional local varieties from the Pyrenean foothills, including Tannet, Pinenc, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds and rosés, and Arrufiac, Petit Courbu and Petit and Gros Manseng for the whites.

Some of the vines at SAINT MONT are over 150 years old; there are even a number of unknown varieties. This is a good example of how biodiversity can contribute to a wine’s unique character.

Vineyards Fashioned by Hand

Pruning, de-budding, de-leafing and green-harvesting are all part and parcel of a manually run vineyard. Every vine is tended to by hand, according to soil conditions, exposure and orientation, to get the very best from each plant.

Traditional, Pure, Full-bodied Wines

SAINT MONT wines are perfect for the discerning wine-drinker who likes a wine to be both traditional and full of flavour.

Reds are elegant, traditional and full-bodied, with a delightfully fresh edge. Whites are distinctive, crisp and well-balanced, with juicy citrus and yellow fruit flavours and an appealing vein of minerality.

Rosés are vibrant, soft and flavoursome, full of red fruit flavours. To discover more about PDO SAINT MONT wines visit the SAINT MONT website.

The heart of South West Wines

The vineyards of SAINT MONT lie about half way between Toulouse and Biarritz. The area is steeped in history and dotted with Romanesque churches, and lies along the pilgrims’ route to Santiago de Compostela. There is evidence that a vineyard existed here as early as the 11th century, planted by the Benedictine monks who founded the monastery at SAINT MONT.

A Unique Terroir on the Slopes of the Pyrenean Piedmont

Nestled in the heart of South Western France, the SAINT MONT appellation area lies in the foothills of the “Pyrenees”.

The valleys here appeared during the formation of the Pyrenees; washed up marine and fluvial deposits gradually covered the limestone bedrock. The SAINT MONT terroir consists of a specific range of soils, including sand, clay and pebbles plus a noticeably cool micro-climate, which gives its wines their distinctive personalities.
